There's a server or a bit of kit tucked away in a cupboard somewhere, quietly doing its best against threats that don't let up. Ransomware, phishing, malware, the usual suspects, and they're only getting sharper.
Eventually, that catches someone out. Not usually anything dramatic, just a phishing email on a bad Monday, or a patch that got missed. And then you're locked out of your own finance system, can't take payments, don't know what you owe suppliers, payroll's stuck. That's not a bad day, that's a genuine crisis.
The video below walks through a simple way of thinking about the fix: instead of defending your own patch on your own, you pool your defences behind one properly guarded wall, for a small monthly cost. Turns out that wall does a lot more than just keep threats out, too.
